Boat Sheds are curious, whimsical and often dilapidated structures adorning the foreshore of many bays all around Tasmania’s vast coastline.
It’a their ambiguity that I find so appealing, for often they are brightly decorated is rusty colours with locked doors, refusing to reveal the contents of their interior.
For years I have happened upon them whilst traversing the state photographing content for my maritime coffee table books, so naturally I started photographing them as well. These images have resulted in an annual wall calendar called Boat Sheds of Tasmania, the Fine Art Prints you see above, and hopefully a Boat Sheds of Tasmania coffee table book sometime in the near future.
In the meantime, enjoy having a browse through the imagery above or on my instagram channel!
